46th Test Wing AFMC Eglin AFB, Florida F-4D/E, F-15A/B/C/D/E, F-16A/B/C, F-111E, F-117A, UH-1N, T-38A 'ET' 39th/40th Flight Test Squadrons

The unit was redesignated as the 46th Test Wing to replace the 3246th Test Wing which was formed in July 1970 as the flying component of the Air Proving Ground Command (APGC). The latter organization was created in July 1948 and subsequently changed title to the Armament Development & Test Center (ADTC), Headquarters Armament Division, and more recently the Air Force Development Test Center and Munitions Systems Division. The Center is responsible for evaluating new and redeveloped existing aerospace weapons systems prior to their implementation to operational units.
